15 Things You Can Do to Create a Kinder World

In one of my past lives as a corporate trainer, people would stare at me blankly when I suggested that we can actually create kind workplaces. So ingrained is the idea of a harsh, competitive, survival-of-the-fittest world, that we forget that these are human constructs. But things don't have to be this way, we can build any kind of world we want based on our actions. With that in mind, here are fifteen things you can do to create a kinder world:

  1. Smile at people.

  2. Do something nice for someone without expecting anything in return.

  3. Praise another person.

  4. Compete less and find ways to collaborate.

  5. Say something nice to someone you don't really get along with.

  6. Listen to someone without talking.

  7. Tell someone how important they are to you.

  8. Go to therapy and heal your hurts so you can be a kind to yourself and others.

  9. Love more and hate less.

  10. Spend time with someone who doesn't have a lot of company.

  11. Volunteer somewhere that benefits the less fortunate.

  12. Compliment more.

  13. Say sorry to someone you need to say sorry to.

  14. Give instead of take.

  15. Do things that make the world a better place for people who aren't like you and who can't repay you.

Try doing one of these things every day and you'll be on your way to spreading love, peace, and kindness throughout the world. You example matters, people will pick up on your behaviors and be more likely to do the same. As more and more people behave kindly, we build a more peaceful world together.

Cheers,

Guy
